About Me

Hi, I’m Mick Hooghwinkel,  a cinematographer and visual storyteller based in the Netherlands.

I’ve always been a visual thinker. From a young age, I was fascinated by the power of imagery and how visuals can evoke emotion, tell stories, and shape experiences. That passion naturally grew into my profession.

Today, I work as a cinematographer, DOP, 1st AC, and colorist, helping ideas come to life through cinematic visuals. My strength lies in translating creative concepts into striking imagery, whether it’s for brand films, music videos, or short films.

I’m available for full video productions from concept to final delivery, as well as specialized roles within a production team. With both creative and technical expertise, I bridge the gap between vision and execution, ensuring every frame feels intentional and impactful.

From concept to final delivery, I manage the entire creative process. I develop the idea, handle production, and deliver the final edit. When needed, I bring in the right people to support the project, ensuring a seamless and cinematic result every time.

DOP​

As a DOP, I’m responsible for the visual style and mood of the project. I craft the lighting, framing, and color to bring the story’s emotion and atmosphere to life, every image starts with my vision.

1st-AC

As a 1st AC, I support the cinematographer by maintaining focus, managing camera equipment, and ensuring every shot runs seamlessly. Precision and technical awareness are key to helping the DOP’s vision come alive.

Collorist

In post-production, I shape the final look of a film through color correction and grading. From natural tones to stylized palettes, I enhance mood, depth, and emotion, giving each frame its unique visual identity.
